In my role as Product Manager for LAEP+ (Local Area Energy Planner Plus), I have been responsible for working in collaboration with a variety of clients and customers, to refine and prioritise our product backlog. It has been a privilege to be able to liaise with various stakeholders, both internal and external, and be involved with a feature in all stages - from initial design, to carrying out workshops with end-users and capturing positive feedback. Some of the features we’ve rolled out have been developed in a really agile environment - the Renewable Energy sector is rapidly evolving, and part of my role is to keep on-top of this or - better so - ahead of the curve!
Prior to joining Advanced Infrastructure, I worked for a digital health company developing cloud-based tools for the NHS. I completed my degree at the University of Sheffield - Information Technology Management for Business. I loved my degree and find it to be perfect for somebody like me who enjoys working in product/project management for IT-based companies, as it allows me to liaise with a number of different teams and stakeholders through having a broad understanding of both the technical and management elements of projects. As part of my degree, I completed a Year in Industry working at Siemens.
My best experience has been taking on project management responsibilities for the RESOP project alongside our project partners Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. I've learned a lot, helped drive a project which is supporting many local authorities with their Net Zero journey, and even gained a PRINCE2 qualification! Our Portfolios feature has also been a pleasure to work on- this was not a formally scoped feature at project kick-off, and the output has been received really positively by our users.
The people - those I work with at Advanced Infrastructure, and the many organisations we collaborate with. We are all working towards a common goal that has been really rewarding to contribute to - and observe the amazing progress being made! Through my role I have the opportunity to speak to people from various backgrounds/roles, which allows me to capture lots of interesting insights.
I love music and have been teaching myself guitar for a few years now. More recently, I’ve passed my driving test which has opened up more opportunities to explore my home county of Lincolnshire, which has lots of beautiful places. I also enjoy cooking and playing card, board or online games with friends. I love animals despite being allergic to many of them!
